Staying up to speed
Steady is all about giving you and your team maximum context for minimum effort. That first part — maximum context — is what Steady’s Daily Digest is all about. It’s a personalized noise-free feed of context-rich summaries and updates, pushed to you automatically.
So instead of sitting through a bunch of meetings, triaging notifications across 5 tools, and hunting for information, you just… read your digest.
Your digest includes two key types of content; daily check-ins from your team, and weekly/bi-weekly/monthly goal updates from any goals that you're involved in.
Check-ins and goal updates work at different "zoom levels", but both cover what happened, and critically, what's next. Everything you need to keep in tight sync with your team, and informed about what's going on around you without getting buried in noise and unimportant details.
Team-level progress at a glance
Steady uses the inverted pyramid approach extensively to help you get up to speed quickly. One of the ways that takes shape in the Daily Digest is with Team Highlights; AI-enhanced summaries that distill everyone’s intentions down to single sentences and roll up activity across the team. They stay pinned above all the check-ins for a given team so that you always have the bigger picture before you start getting into the details.
When you are ready to focus on the details, you can click through to a focused view of all the check-ins involved.
All your context in one place
The sidebar on the Daily Digest rounds up all of "your stuff"; update reminders, goals you own or contribute to, and all the teams that you're on.
Action Items
Action Items keep track of all the teams you need to check in with and goals that are due for an update. It's your one-stop shop for reminders on what to do to keep your team up-to-date. No more worrying about missing an email or Slack message. Action items keep track so you don't have to.
Goals
Live Goals you own or contribute to are listed underneath action items, giving you a clear picture and easy access to the larger goals and projects you're focused on.
Teams
Each team that you're a member of is listed under Goals. Click on a team to view a focused profile that includes everything that's going on for that team.
Quickly see what a team or person has been up to
Your Daily Digest is where relevant updates get delivered to you, but if you're looking for specific information, Steady has a variety of views to help.
- Teams & People is a directory of profiles that are one-stop-shops for everything that's going on with that team/person.
- Insights gives you a way to see check-in trends over time.
- Activity lets you drill down into specific types of integration and app activity.
You can just directly to any profile or any view from anywhere in the app by pressing /
and typing the name.

Automated summaries and insights with Echoes
Staying informed about your team's activities shouldn't be a hassle. Echoes simplify this by automatically bringing the most relevant updates directly to you.
Instead of sifting through numerous check-ins and goal updates, Echoes highlight essential information—such as key decisions, project milestones, or insights pertinent to your work.
Echoes takes time-consuming, energy-sapping context assembly off of your plate so you can focus on the work that matters.
Echoes pull in key insights from check-ins, goals, and team discussions, giving you a high-level view of progress without interrupting your team’s flow. They help answer:
- What’s moving forward?
- What needs attention?
- Who might need support?
- What has a team member been focused on in the past week?
With Echoes, you can stay connected to your team’s work without adding meetings or micromanaging.
Using Echoes
To start using Echoes, select the waveform icon in the sidebar.
- Start an Echo by typing a question or prompt into the field, or by picking a question from the default set of templates. You can use simple questions like “Who’s out next week on the product team?” or use more advanced prompts like “summarize the major progress that the Design and Dev teams made last week, and include any related pull requests”.
- Once you submit your question, Echoes will generate a preview so you can make sure the output is what you want/expect. If it’s not, you can make changes, and the preview will update.
- Pick a weekly/bi-weekly/monthly cadence and the day and time you want answers delivered, and optionally edit the “short name” (which is displayed on answers).
- After you save your Echo, an initial answer will be delivered to your Digest. Future answers will be delivered to your Digest according to your schedule, and you’ll also get notified when that happens.
- All answers for an Echo are viewable in one place. Just click on the Echo in question from the list on the main Echoes view. This is also where you can edit, pause, or delete an Echo (via the ••• menu at the top of the page).
