Microsoft Outlook Calendar
Once you connect your Microsoft Outlook Calendar to your personal settings in Steady, you and the team can see completed events alongside your check-ins and manage absences in Steady automatically based on OOO events in Outlook.
When checking in, you'll also see the events in the "Recent activity" section, which will help you answer the check-in questions.
The total time spent in meetings will also be calculated, giving you and your teammates a quick way to see how much time each person spends in meetings and the team as a whole.
Set up
To connect your Microsoft Outlook Calendar, visit your Preferences - Connections section, open the Microsoft Outlook Calendar section, and click on the "Connect Microsoft Outlook" button. You'll be prompted to pick your Outlook account and authorize Steady to read your calendars and calendar events.
After that, you'll select which calendars you'd like to monitor from the dropdown menu. The sync is not retroactive, so the first events will be visible in your next check-in. (If it's after your check-in time for the day, that will be your draft check-in.)
Absences
If you have an "Out of office" event in Microsoft Outlook, we'll automatically mark you absent in Steady for that day.
If you manually remove the absence from Steady, we will stop automatically updating that day to mark you as absent.
Event privacy
Steady can only monitor calendars you own and will only sync events visible to others in the calendars you select. If you mark an event as "private," it will simply display the event title as "Busy" in Steady.
To hide certain events from displaying with your check-in, expand the Microsoft Outlook Calendar section and click the "hide" option when checking in.
