Legacy team-level Microsoft Teams
If you're an older account, you're grandfathered into access to our legacy team-level Microsoft Teams app. Here are the docs for our latest version of the Microsoft Teams app.
When you connect your team to a channel in Microsoft Teams, the bot will take care of checking in your team and collecting daily goals.
Whenever someone on your team checks in, their update is formatted and broadcast to the channel and team of your choice in Microsoft Teams. Blocking issues are highlighted in red so you can jump right on them, and we'll automatically fold in activity from other tools that are hooked up, like Jira or Github.
A check-in summary is also delivered to your selected channel, along with the necessary links to drill down into individual goals, activity, and productivity metrics.
Set up
In Microsoft Teams, go to "Apps" in the lower left-hand corner. Search for "Steady" and select "Add".
The Steady bot will send you a chat with information on the next steps.
Go to the channel that you want to add Steady to. Now, from the channel you just selected, @mention the Steady bot and give it the connect command:
The Steady bot will send you a direct message with an expiring activation code (it's hidden until you click on the "Show the activation code" button.
Next copy that code, log in to Steady and go to Team Settings > Integrations > Microsoft Teams for the relvant team, paste it into input box there, and click on the "Connect" button:
In Microsoft Teams, Steady will send you a message that it's connected.
Congratulations! Steady and Microsoft Teams are now connected.
Note that you currently cannot connect bots to private channels in Microsoft Teams. More information here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/private-channels.
How it works
Checking in
According to the team and team member notification settings, the bot will send a direct message to you and the other team members at check-in time. Just follow the instructions for checking in.
Checking in on your own
To check in before the bot reminds you or to edit your current check-in, @mention the bot from the channel that's connected to Status Hero with the checkin
command. The bot will send you a private message to add or edit your check-in.
Summary Reports
We'll broadcast a summary report to the check-ins thread at the summary report time defined in the team settings in Steady.
Adjusting settings
To visit Steady and adjust your notification preferences, avatar, and other settings, @mention the bot from the channel that's connected to Steady with the settings command. The bot will send you a direct message with a link change your settings.
Getting help
If you get stuck, you can also @mention the bot with the help
command, and the bot will send back some helpful information for you. To contact us, just click on the chat bubble on the bottom right of this screen.
